Privacy Policy
Invincible You is a small editorial site about PC gaming. We don't run user accounts, we don't operate a shop, and we don't harvest data we don't need. This policy explains, in plain terms, the limited personal data we do handle when you read the site or write to us, why we handle it, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Invincible You (https://invincible-you.com) is operated by Meridian Play Media Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 13482719, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Meridian Play Media Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us by phone on +44 20 7946 0813 or by email at info@invincible-you.com.
What data we collect
We collect as little as possible, and only in three situations:
- Contact form submissions. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive the name you give, your email address, the subject you pick, and your message. That is everything we ask for — please don't send us anything more sensitive than the question itself requires.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure automatically records technical data when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string. We do not combine these logs with anything else.
- Cookie consent preference. When you answer the cookie banner, your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage (under the key
iy_consent_v1) so we don't ask you again on every page. This value never leaves your device on its own and contains no personal information beyond the choice itself. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
Why we use this data
Each category has its own purpose:
- Contact messages are used solely to read and answer your inquiry — a correction, a question about a guide, a business proposal. We don't add you to a mailing list and we don't use your address for marketing.
- Server logs are used to keep the site secure and running: detecting abuse, blocking automated attacks, and diagnosing technical faults.
- Anonymous analytics, if and only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner, help us understand which reviews and guides people actually read, so we can plan future coverage. Without your consent, no analytics code is loaded at all.
Legal bases under UK GDPR
Where the UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on two legal bases. Consent covers anything optional: analytics and any other non-essential storage only run after you actively accept them in the banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time (see the Cookie Policy for how). Legitimate interest covers answering messages you send us and keeping the site secure through server logs — processing that is limited, expected, and does not override your rights. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time.
Who receives your data
We don't sell, rent or trade personal data. The only third parties involved are service providers acting on our behalf: our hosting provider, which stores the site and its logs, and — only after you have given consent — an analytics provider that receives anonymous usage statistics. Any such provider is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions. If we were ever required to disclose data by law (for example, by a court order), we would do so only to the extent required.
International transfers
Our primary infrastructure is located in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. If a service provider processes data outside the UK or EEA, that transfer is protected by an adequacy regulation or by standard contractual clauses approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep data
Contact form correspondence is kept for 24 months after our last exchange, in case a conversation needs follow-up, and then deleted. Server logs are rotated and deleted after 30 days. Your consent preference stays in your own browser until you clear it or it expires after 12 months. Anonymous analytics data is retained only in aggregate form.
Your rights under UK GDPR
If you are in the United Kingdom or the EEA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten");
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format;
- Restriction of processing in certain circumstances;
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interest.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@invincible-you.com. If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the issue first, but the choice is yours.
California visitors (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used (this policy describes it), the right to delete personal information we hold about you, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you can exercise your rights at any time via info@invincible-you.com. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Children
Invincible You is written for a general gaming audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, access to our hosting environment is restricted to the people who maintain the site, and contact messages are stored only in systems protected by authentication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we apply measures proportionate to the limited data we hold.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged on the site before they take effect.
